Creating A KPI (Key Performance Indicator)
- On the eQuip dashboard, go to ADMIN > Manage ApplicationSettings > KPI Definitions.
- This brings you to the KPI Definitions configuration screen.

- To create a new KPI, choose Add new record.
- To create a new KPI, choose Add new record.
- To edit an existing KPI, choose the pencil icon to the right of the KPI in the list.
- Enter values for the for the following:

- Goal Value – the number that represents your final goal
- Threshold – the number that represents the threshold number that you are aiming for
- KPI Query – the query that will populate the values for your KPI

- Choose Test KPI to make sure the KPI is valid

- Check the box for Display To All if anyone should be able to view the KPI
- If only users with certain roles should have access to view the KPIs, do not check the box.

- Instead of checking the box, check the box(s) for the appropriate role(s) from the Role dropdown.

- Enter a KPI Title.
- Check the box for Goal Value approaches 0 if it is appropriate for your KPI.
- For the Report dropdown, choose the report that you want a link to appear for in the KPI (if appropriate).

- For this example, choose All Audited Assets.

- Once this choice is saved, the link to access the All Audited Assets report will appear under the KPI title on the eQuip dashboard.

- For the Spreadsheet Reports dropdown, choose the spreadsheet report that you want a link to appear for in the KPI (if appropriate).
- For the Coordinated Workflows dropdown choose the coordinated workflow that you want a link to appear for in the KPI (if appropriate).
- For the Asset Tracking Workflows dropdown choose the asset tracking workflow that you want a link to appear for in the KPI (if appropriate).
- Check the User Scope box if you want the KPI values to be filtered according to the user scope of the logged in user.
- This will also require that the KPI Query includes the User ID
- Choose the green check mark in the lower left-hand corner of the box when you are done entering values to save the KPI.
- If everything was entered correctly, the KPI will display the correct values on the eQuip dashboard.

- The values will update every ten minutes.
- If your goal has been met or exceeded, the status will be green.
- If the value is below the goal, the status will be yellow.

- If the value reflects a failure to meet the goal, the status will be red.
- If the value reflects a failure to meet the goal, the status will be red.
