How to Add a Tab to the Asset Detail Screen in eQuip

Not all assets display the same tabs in eQuip

Sometimes an asset in the asset detail page does not show a needed tab, this article will explain how to add tabs to the asset detail page. 

The Asset Detail Tabs are not controlled by the assets themselves rather they are controlled by the asset category to which the asset is assigned. 

Here is how to modify the assignment

1. Determine the category to which the asset is assigned

  • Navigate to Search > Search for Assets > Enter the Asset Barcode and Click Apply Filter.
  • Click on the Asset the field will turn orange and choose Edit This Item.


 2.  The asset detail screen will load.   

  • On the Asset Summary Tab look for the Asset Category ( This category will be the one to update)

3.  Navigate to Admin > Manage Categories > Asset Categories

  •  Locate the category on the left > click on it to make sure it populates in the category name field > then select the proper visible tab on the right > click the save category floppy disk icon
  • If you wish to display the History tab, please be sure to click the check box that says track history as well as the Asset History box on the right hand of the screen.
